What to do and where to eat in St. Louis. Planning on visiting St.Louis, MO, and you don’t have an Itinerary prepared, well, you’re in luck. I spent a weekend in St.Louis and I’ll be happy to share with you places to to visit and eat during your stay.
12:00 A.M – Blondie’s Coffee, Wine and Dessert Bar
Just landed and need to grab a bite to eat while waiting to check into your hotel, stop by Blondie’s. Located on Washington Avenue, parking may be hard to find but the food is good.
3:00 P.M-Forest Park
Forest Park with 1,300 acres of land opened in 1876 and has an average of 13 million visitors each year. You won’t be able to walk the park in two hours unless your the Flash, because there is so much to do and see. You can find the St.Louis Zoo on the Park grounds along with other institutions like the St.Louis Science Center, St.Louis Art Museum and more. Don’t leave Forest Park without checking out the Jewel Box.
5:00 P.M- Benton Park
Try out the loop trolley at Benton Park, it’s the perfect mode of transportation when it comes to checking out your surroundings.
8:00 P.M- Cielo Restarant
Looking for a rooftop hotel with a nice view of the Gateway Arch, then look no further. At Cielo Restaurant located on the 8th floor of the 4 seasons, you can catch a nice view, go before the sunsets for a better shot. The menu is affordable and the food isn’t bad. Bring a bathing suit because there is a rooftop pool.
10:00 A.M- Anheuser Bush Tour
Beer lover or not, take a tour of the Anheuser Bush. The brewery is known as the oldest in the nation. Check it out if you are curious about the humble beginnings of Budweiser.
1:00 P.M- Riverfront Tour
The Riverfront Tour will cost you only $20 and is a great way to catch a view of the Gateway Arch from a distance and view downtown. Check out the website for discounts, you can also get a package deal if you do it along with the Gateway Helicopter Tour.
3:00 P.M- Gateway Helicopter Tour
The Gateway Helicopter ranges from $37-$150, the amount you pay depends on the length of the tour. I believe for 5 minutes, you would pay $37, but call to confirm.
4:00 P.M- Gateway Arch Tour Museum
You can’t leave St.Louis without taking a Tram Ride to the top of the Gateway Arch, the views are amazing and only costs $13 for the ride. After taking the tram, explore the interactive museums. Hours of operation do vary, on most days the museum closes at 6 P.M, so try getting there a little earlier if you plan on exploring the museum and taking the tram ride.
10:00 A.M- Grants Park
Grants Park is a free zoo where you can interact with wildlife, however, you will need to pay for parking which is $12.
1:00 P.M- Cathy’s Kitchen
Stop by for lunch at Cathy’s Kitchen, what makes this restaurant so unique is that the restaurants menu categorized meals from the places that the owner has visited around the word. This allows you to try different dishes from the states in America and may influence you to visit these places to try them yourself.
3:00 P.M – Missouri Botanical Garden
The Missouri Botanical Garden is huge and beautiful. The Garden does close at 5 P.M on most days, so arrive earlier if you plan on having a photo session. For those who just want to walk around, the garden does hold walking tours with guides that will you more about the garden and what it has to offer.
5:00 P.M- Laumeier Sculpture Park
Lover of Sculptures or not, stop by to check out the awesome masterpieces, the park will not disappoint.
5:00 P.M- The Dome at America’s Center
Are you a football fan? Then you must stop by Edward Jones Dome/The Dome at America’s Center. The arena not only holds football games but concerts as well. Do you like hockey, then make time to see the Scottrade Center located downtown St.Louis.
8:00 P.M- Bar Italia
Bar Italia has tasty Italian food and wine from around the world, so if you’re a lover of wine and Italian food, this is the spot for you.
Where to stay in St.Louis
I spent 3 days/nights in St.Louis, the first night I stayed at an Airbnb, the last two nights were at Union Station Hotel. The Hotel was lovely and I highly recommend. Customer Service was top notched and the building beautiful.
