A helpful Itinerary on “How to spend 3 Days in Cancun”. Cancun is one of the most popular destinations in Mexico, next to Cabo and Mexico City, Cancun is known for it’s beautiful beaches and fun activities. I was lucky to visit Cancun on a family trip earlier this year. You can go with a group or solo. If you plan on visiting Cancun soon, utilize this itinerary for ideas.
10:00 A.M: Tour the Hotel Zone by City Bus: Catch the bus and explore the Hotel Zone and Downtown Cancun. The buses stop on the main street and goes up and down the long strip. When I went with my family in January of 2016, we did not rent a car, the buses were are primary mode of transportation, and were extremely reliable. The buses operated every 5-10minutes, so you were not waiting long.
12:00 P.M: Playa Delfines Beach : You can’t go to Cancun without going to the beach, and Cancun is full of them. My favorite Beach would have to be Playa Delfines. The waves are strong and the water beautiful. My family and I went to a couple of others during our stay in Cancun, but this one hands down was the best in my opinion. Make sure to go early because the later you go, the stronger the tides which can become too dangerous for you to swim.
2:00 P.M: Parque de las palapas: In the he city’s main square is you will find food vendors, so this is a perfect place to visit after the beach. And if you are looking to buy souvenirs for family and friends, you’ll find it here.
4:00 P.M: Market 28 (Mercado 28): Market 28 is similar to Parque de las palapas, which is a flea market with vendors offering food, souvenirs and other goodies.
7:00 P.M: La Parilla: Travel outside of the Hotel Zone and have dinner with the locals at La Parilla. This place is great, the food is amazing and so is the price. In La Parilla, you can enjoy live performances by the staff.
10:00 P.M: Club & Bar: If you want to go to the club or the bar, Cancun is filled with fun places to go. The legal drinking age is 18, so your little brother or sister can tag along. The clubs and bars are all located in the Hotel District and are in close proximity to one another. Below are a few clubs
9:00 A.M: Visit the Mayan Ruins: When in Mexico, you must visit the Mayan Ruins, if you don’t have time to visit the Ruins on this trip, then this should be on your bucket list the next time you visit Cancun. There are a number of tour companies that can take you to the Ruins. Some tour services take to more than one popular site.
3:00 P.M: Xcaret (Half Day of Full Day): Xcaret is a Theme Park and Resort. This place is so much fun, it can be a little pricey but well worth the price tag. I suggest booking tickets in advance in order to avoid the lines into the park and to get a better deal on the price. You can easily spend a full day here or half day if you have other plans later in the evening.
9: 00 A.M: Museo Maya De Cancun: If you are a fan of Mayan Agricultural, this is the place to visit. There is so much to see, and it’s not too far from Delphinus Aquarium (On the same Strip)
11:00 A.M: Delphinus Aquarium: You will be able to swim with the dolphins for a low cost at the Aquarium. I believe I paid $60-$80 for 45 minutes with the dolphins. Also, once you are done playing with the beautiful animals, you can explore the Aquarium.
2:00 P.M: Visit Isla Mujeres Island (Half Day Trip): Isla Island is an Island 20-25 minutes by ferry from Cancun. Visiting Isla Mujeres can be a half day trip or you can make it a full day trip. There is much to do on the Island. The ferry will drop you off in the center of the island. What I did was rent a golf cart for an inexpensive fee and ride it around the Island. I was my own tour guide.
9:00 P.M: Lorenzillo’s: After a long day, go back to your hotel, take a shower then off to dinner at Lorenzillo’s. This place is great! The food is awesome, customer service is great and you’re basically floating over water while having your dinner. If is also affordable.
